RISE Science Day
The 4th annual Science Day was hosted at CSUMB on February 16th, 2008. Between the University Center and the Chapman Science Academic Center, the RISE Program, in partnership with the Science and Environmental Policy Department, CSUMB Science Leadership Program, and Science Club, hosted high school students and parents in a day of hands-on science activities sponsored by SEP Faculty members. This gives students exposure to various fields in the sciences, and also serves as a recruitment for CSUMB and the SEP department.
MCAT Informational
To give the students of CSUMB a better idea of how to follow a path toward a medical degree, the CSUMB Science Club is hosting a presentation this Sunday on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCATS). Mr. Jose Luis Pacheco is currently on sabbatical from medical school at University of Wisconsin, Madison. He will be giving a short presentation on the process of getting into medical school, including specifics on the MCAT exam, and go over what courses are necessary before applying, as well as specifics of GPA. Mr. Pacheco will also cover alternative routes to obtaining a medical degree.
