Faculty Advisors:

The faculty members of SEP are eager to help you achieve your personal and professional goals while you are a student with us, and even after you graduate. When you enroll in ESSP 300, you will select a faculty advisor. But we invite each of you to select a faculty advisor even before you enroll in ESSP 300. If your interests change, you are welcome to change faculty advisors, as well.
A faculty advisor helps you devise an Individual Learning Plan (ILP), where you chart your pathway to graduation. That is to say, your advisor helps you choose courses and other learning experiences that allow you to fulfill your Major Learning Outcomes (MLOs) and University Learning Requirements (ULRs), while at the same time pursing your personal and professional interests. An advisor may alert you to opportunities - in ESSP, at CSUMB, in the community - that help you achieve your goals. S/he may help you plan and prepare for graduate school or post-CSUMB careers. You should choose an advisor a) with interests that overlap yours, b) with expertise in fields that intribue you, and c) with whom you feel comfortable talking.

The concentrations and emphases are listed below with links to those faculty member whose strengths lie in that area. Of course, anyone in SEP (SEP Faculty Directory) can be an "informal" advisor/mentor if you have questions about academic subject matters, capstones, or post-CSUMB plans.
