...doing inspiring things

Dana Riggs This photo is of Samuel extracting mud samples recovered by the ROV (remote operated vehicle) Jason 2 in a "glove bag" flushed with nitrogen gas to prevent the alteration of the samples. The work is done in a refrigerated room at 2 degrees C to simulate temperatures near the seafloor. This was all done aboard the R/V Thomas G. Thompson off of the coast of Guam near the Mariana Trench, the deepest known spot in the ocean. Samuel was the only person aboard wearing a jacket at the time. Nicole diving.

We have developed this site to celebrate the accomplishments of ESSP alumni who are doing great and inspiring things and feel that it will not only inspire current undergraduates, but many others.

Recently, we put a call out to graduates that we knew were doing amazing things and we have developed 12 of those stories to share with you. We hope that you find them as inspiring as we have.
